This snow globe I made was for my girlfriend for Christmas, she loves snow globes. I thought it would be nice to make one for her.

Everything I did to this could be done by anyone without power tools. ( be ready to laugh ) I carved it with a small titanium steel army knife, a hobby saw, a wood chisel, and my determination.

I carved into the wood with a wood chisel. It took a very long time.

I sanded this baby down about a million times with two to three different grains of sandpaper. Cherry is a formidable opponent.

Coated with linseed oil.

The glass orb I stole in a manner of speaking from another design. I bought a snow globe and pilfered its juices snow and hard dome like glass. I am not a glass blower so.

Inside is a small glass bottle, inspired by the song "The purple bottle" by Animal Collective. Its held to the base with 2 ton waterproof (or so it said) apoxy.

This was all done by my two hands no power tools.

The wood is cherry I got for a local dealer. Cherry is a very hard wood!

Very Rewarding Project! Estimated time Easily over 24 hours, but I did it while doing other things and putting it down.

The only thing I regret is using the apoxy, eventually it stopped doing its job and now the jar sits at the bottom of the snow globe.
